We are seeking an exceptional Technical Team Lead who excels in navigating complex technical challenges and possesses the ability to communicate effectively with CTO-level stakeholders. This hybrid position allows for a balanced mix of onsite and remote work. As the key onsite leader for a vital payment harmonization platform, you will guide and mentor a high-performing team, connecting intricate C/Perl legacy systems with modern enterprise standards. Your primary focus will be on collaborating with technical leadership, maintaining architectural integrity, and delivering high-throughput, reliable payment solutions tailored to client requirements.

Are you the right fit?
- 6+ years of experience with distributed payment systems and high-throughput processing
- 2+ years in the payments domain with a comprehensive understanding of the payment lifecycle (authorization, capture, settlement)
- Proficient in payment orchestration, gateway integrations, tokenization, smart routing, retries, and multi-processor environments
- Familiarity with authorization and settlement pipelines
- Knowledgeable in card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and ISO 8583/SPDH messaging
- Understanding of PCI DSS compliance
- Proficient in PostgreSQL and Unix-based systems, with knowledge of networking fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and technical leads in Agile teams
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical challenges into clear business strategies
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, open to new ideas and constructive feedback
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency and native-level Croatian
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with low-level C cores and advanced Perl data-transformation layers
- Familiarity with C and Perl or a willingness to learn
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
