We are searching for a proactive and organized team player with a knack for problem-solving. The ideal candidate is an adaptable leader with excellent communication abilities, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders and fostering effective collaboration. Essential Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent field, with specialized training or experience in renewable energy (solar and/or wind). A minimum of 5 years of experience in renewable energy, with at least 3-5 years specifically in wind and/or solar consultancy. Extensive experience as both a Lender's and Owner's Technical Advisor, managing technical due diligence, particularly in PV EPC, O&M, PPA, and Wind Turbine contracts.

We are at the forefront of the renewable energy sector, and to maintain our strong market presence, we invite an experienced engineer specializing in Solar and/or Wind energy to join our dynamic team in South Africa.

In this influential role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for our clients, leading the comprehensive delivery of consultancy projects. Your responsibilities will encompass both due diligence and owner's engineer duties, supporting our clients through all phases of project development, from initial feasibility assessments to operational monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Due Diligence:

  • Lead and manage technical due diligence projects, guiding clients through the financial close phase.
  • Evaluate and mitigate technical risks associated with project CAPEX, OPEX, and revenue projections.
  • Collaborate with legal, insurance, and financial advisors to ensure thorough evaluations of projects.
  • Review and negotiate essential contracts (including EPC, O&M, PPA, and Wind Turbine Generator Supply agreements) for both solar and wind initiatives.

Owner’s Engineer Services:

  • Conduct feasibility studies, offering comprehensive technical insights from preliminary evaluations to thorough economic analyses.
  • Supervise construction progress, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry best practices.
  • Manage the preparation of EPC and O&M tenders, engage in contract negotiations, and assist clients through the award process.
  • Perform on-site project acceptance testing and commissioning, collaborating with contractors to resolve issues and meet project milestones.
  • Oversee project operations, providing support to clients during the operational phase to enhance performance and maintain long-term asset integrity.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Execute detailed technical reviews of project permits, designs, and resource assessments.
  • Lead and document technical inspections throughout the construction and commissioning phases.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies based on extensive knowledge of renewable energy project lifecycles.
