What You’ll DoOversee daily revenue accounting operations, including key revenue streams, journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures. Ensure accurate revenue recognition and related accounts in compliance with ASC 606.Review and document technical accounting conclusions for complex contracts and multi-element arrangements (hardware, SaaS, professional services). Collaborate cross-functionally to assess contracts, resolve revenue issues, and optimize order-to-cash processes. Manage monthly and quarterly close activities, analytics, and revenue reporting. Enhance and maintain internal controls while supporting internal and external audits, ensuring SOX compliance. Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to boost efficiency and scalability. Mentor and develop team members while fostering a high-performance culture.

Role overview

The Senior Revenue Manager leads revenue accounting operations and partners closely with FP&A, Commercial Controllership, IT, Professional Services, and Sales. The position focuses on accurate and compliant revenue recognition under ASC 606. Improving processes, strengthening controls, and supporting scalability are key priorities in Axon's complex, multi-element revenue environment.

Location and schedule

This position is based in Boston and requires relocation from Denver or another location. The hybrid schedule includes onsite work Tuesday through Friday, with remote work on Mondays unless an approved workplace accommodation is in place. Axon emphasizes in-person collaboration to support innovation, mentorship, and team success.

Reporting line

The Senior Revenue Manager reports to the Director of Revenue Accounting.

  • Oversee revenue accounting operations for complex, multi-element revenue streams
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and maintain accurate revenue recognition practices
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Commercial Controllership, IT, Professional Services, and Sales teams
  • Enhance processes, controls, and scalability within the revenue function
  • Operate effectively in a public company environment

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a public company setting
  • Deep understanding of ASC 606
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and manage complex revenue arrangements
  • Comfort with a hybrid work schedule and willingness to relocate to Boston
