The Autonomy Subsystems team is responsible for designing and evaluating autonomy software modules. As a Senior Engineer, Autonomy ML Systems based in Boston, you will focus on strengthening evaluation processes for machine learning subsystems. The role covers offline model evaluations, open and closed-loop re-simulations, and on-road performance assessments. The main objective is to develop meaningful metrics, validate subsystem performance, and provide actionable feedback to machine learning developers. Collaboration across teams is essential to improve in-vehicle machine learning models as Motional prepares to scale its robotaxi service. Key Responsibilities Define, prototype, and validate advanced metrics to provide new insights into model performance, especially for perception, prediction, and planning subsystems.
