About the job

As a Senior Software Production Engineer at Quantum Systems GmbH, you will spearhead the strategy and execution of production-grade deployment systems for our advanced drone technology, which encompasses both microcontroller firmware and embedded Linux platforms. You will take ownership of the entire rollout toolchain, establish quality gates, facilitate cross-functional root-cause analysis, and implement scalable, reliable, and auditable processes that underpin production scaling and continuous improvement.

Collaborating closely with stakeholders from our software development teams (embedded and embedded Linux), as well as our testing, integration, and manufacturing teams, you will optimize and streamline the software rollout processes during production. Your contributions will be vital in achieving Quantum Systems’ vision of setting the standard in aerial data collection solutions utilizing unmanned aerial systems (sUAV).

Your Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and maintain comprehensive production deployment pipelines for:

  1. Microcontroller firmware: including flashing, verification, configuration/calibration injection, and rollback strategies.

  2. NVIDIA Orin embedded Linux: focusing on image creation/deployment, provisioning, secure updates, boot reliability, and recovery.

  • Define and develop robust production tools: including flashing stations, automation scripts, artifact/version management, logs/metrics, and user-friendly UIs/workflows.

  • Establish quality gates and release readiness criteria for production software, including test coverage expectations, acceptance thresholds, and rollback plans.

  • Lead complex debugging efforts across hardware, firmware, bootloaders, OS, and factory test systems, driving corrective actions and long-term preventative measures.

  • Enhance processes for throughput: aim to reduce flashing times, minimize manual interventions, and improve stability and repeatability across multiple lines and sites globally.
