Your Responsibilities:
- Drive the development of key structural airframe assemblies from initial design through certification and into manufacturing.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of load paths, design best practices, and hand calculations to create robust structural configurations.
- Provide technical leadership on design concepts, balancing risk, cost, and performance considerations.
- Ensure structural integrity through static strength, stiffness, stability, fatigue, durability, damage tolerance, and other requirements using hand calculations and finite element analysis, supported by testing.
- Prepare and disseminate stress analysis documentation.
- Assist in design reviews and parts release processes.
- Support component and assembly testing, including the definition, planning, requirements, and report generation.
- Conduct analyses to support Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Review and authorize design dispositions and analysis substantiations throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to identify process improvements and conduct root cause analyses.
- Engage with suppliers and engineers across various disciplines throughout the product development lifecycle from prototypes to high-rate production.
