Key Responsibilities:Modernization & Optimization: Transform our cloud-native data stack into a scalable, secure, and high-performing ecosystem, utilizing both SQL and NoSQL repositories to handle diverse workloads. Architectural Development: Employ modern data principles such as lakehouse, data fabric, and data mesh architectures to enhance scalability, decentralization, governance, and interoperability. Design Scalable Solutions: Create flexible architectures that support analytics, real-time reporting, AI/ML Ops pipelines, feature stores, and graph-based data relationships. Unified Data Platform: Develop high-performing, cost-effective solutions capable of managing both structured and unstructured data at high volume and velocity. Modeling Standards: Define enterprise-wide standards for data modeling, semantic layers, and golden datasets to promote consistency and reuse. Data Governance & Quality: Implement frameworks for data lineage, quality, privacy, and security (GDPR, CCPA, PII protections). Personalization & Insights: Design data capabilities that support advanced recommendations, relationship mapping, and interconnected user experiences.

In this critical role, you will lead the modernization of our existing data platform and architect a scalable data, reporting, and AI ecosystem that not only enhances our product offerings but also meets evolving business needs. Your vision will shape a robust, secure, and future-ready cloud-native data architecture. By establishing best practices, optimizing performance, and collaborating across teams, you will empower GoFundMe to leverage data as a strategic asset for insights, innovation, and sustainable growth.
This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an in-office requirement of 3 times a week.
