As a Senior Supplier Quality & Development Engineer (SQDE) at Rotork, you will play a pivotal role in managing the approval and development of assigned suppliers according to Rotork's global standards. This position offers local support for exports to international Rotork sites.
You will collaborate with the Category Manager to support global category strategies and drive procurement projects. Your responsibilities will include evaluating potential suppliers, facilitating onboarding, and overseeing development and sample approval activities to ensure that all purchased products align with the requirements of Rotork sites and contribute to our sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of Health & Safety, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, technical process capabilities, and management systems of new suppliers during the selection phase.
- Plan and execute supplier audits to verify the effectiveness of quality management systems, ensuring they consistently deliver conforming materials. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement to address identified gaps.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers, engineering teams, and operations to facilitate new part development while ensuring the prompt resolution of technical challenges and quality issues. Assist suppliers in completing tooling and process “Design For Manufacture” (DFM) and Rotork’s “Sample Approval” (PPAP) process. Implement statistical quality programs and yield reporting as needed.
- Utilize supplier scorecards and data analytics to foster ongoing enhancements in supplier process capabilities, thereby supporting Rotork’s objectives in Health & Safety, sustainability, cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
- Contribute significantly to the success of the Category team in meeting cost targets, quality benchmarks, and optimizing the supplier base.
- Lead supplier quality initiatives for designated commodities, establish and monitor technical and quality metrics, and ensure continuous improvement goals are achieved.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding supplier quality performance, including metrics such as incoming rejection rates, process yields, maintenance of quality systems, and findings from on-site audits.
- Drive structured problem-solving initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable corrective actions and preventing future occurrences.
