Qualifications Proven experience in technical recruiting, preferably within the software engineering and AI/ML domains. Strong familiarity with recruiting tools and platforms, particularly those that focus on technical communities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building relationships. Ability to think creatively and strategically about sourcing talent in non-traditional ways. Experience managing the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing through to closing. A degree in a relevant field is preferred, but not mandatory.

Your Role at Lila Sciences

As a Senior Technical Recruiter at Lila Sciences, you will spearhead our engineering and AI/ML research recruitment efforts in the San Francisco area. This position is designed for an innovative recruiter who views recruiting through the lens of technology and community engagement. You'll leverage cutting-edge recruiting tools, delve into high-signal technical communities (X, GitHub, open-source projects, and research networks), and cultivate genuine relationships through coffee chats and meetups to turn these connections into outstanding hires.

Your Contributions

  • Establish and nurture a robust network of software engineers and AI/ML researchers in San Francisco through consistent relationship-building efforts: coffee meetings, warm introductions, and community engagement.
  • Create non-traditional sourcing and discovery strategies: identify top-tier talent via X, GitHub, open-source communities, technical writing, niche forums, and research networks, beyond conventional LinkedIn searches.
  • Develop and optimize innovative recruiting workflows/tools (streamlined automations, discovery agents, enrichment/triage tools, outreach experiments) to enhance our talent acquisition processes.
  • Participate in and organize community events: meetups, dinners, office hours, and intimate gatherings that bolster Lila’s visibility and establish a solid “people know people” pipeline.
  • Work closely with our Senior Technical Sourcer to convert initial contacts into engaged candidates, ensuring a high-quality, personalized experience from the first conversation to the final offer.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruiting for technical positions: collaborate with hiring managers on intake, conduct recruiter screenings, manage interview processes, provide candidate coaching, devise offer strategies, and facilitate closures.
  • Create compelling narratives aimed at technical audiences, why Lila, why now, and why this role, and adapt messaging based on market feedback.
  • Maintain operational excellence: ensure accurate pipeline tracking and stage hygiene throughout the recruiting process.
