We are on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Technical Writer to design, create, and manage customer-oriented documentation for the Smartsheet Help Center, as well as internal product documentation. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights into new product features and translate that knowledge into clear, concise, and engaging technical content that meets established style guidelines and deadlines. You will work closely with the product team to produce and update documentation that supports the creation of other content across the company. Given our rapid development cycle, your ability to deliver timely content is essential. Your responsibilities will also encompass site improvement projects, reporting, internal process enhancements, and Drupal integration.
You will report directly to the Manager of Customer Experience Enablement and Knowledge Experiences based in the United States. This position is eligible for remote work within Costa Rica, and you must be a resident of Costa Rica.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deeply engage with Smartsheet's product suite to understand the technologies and features necessary for precise documentation.
- Synthesize specification documents and internal technical specifications to create targeted, high-quality, customer-facing content, including but not limited to:
- Technical articles for the Smartsheet Help website (how-to guides, reference materials, FAQs, troubleshooting) and/or API documentation on the developer website.
- Content for eLearning modules or instructional videos.
- Internal documentation.
- Visual aids for Help content (screenshots, gifs, etc.).
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure technical accuracy in your writing.
- Review and mentor other writers to enhance their technical writing skills.
- Utilize AI tools to expedite content creation, enhance quality, and scale documentation output, while modeling best practices for AI-assisted writing workflows throughout the team.
- Monitor and report on your project assignments and timelines, maintaining adherence to strict deadlines.
- Define and develop templates and processes to standardize documentation practices across the team.
