The gsstech-group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Engineer to drive critical technology initiatives and enhance our Oracle DBA automation through cutting-edge DevOps methodologies. This role is both hands-on and fast-paced, requiring adeptness in managing multiple simultaneous projects within production environments while adhering to tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain enterprise-scale Oracle databases in live production settings.
Architect and sustain Oracle RAC and Data Guard solutions.
Execute database patching, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.
Implement backup and recovery strategies utilizing RMAN.
Oversee database performance and health using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Facilitate cloud-based Oracle deployments on platforms like OCI and AWS.
Automate routine DBA tasks leveraging Ansible, Git, and scripting.
Collaborate with Agile teams across various concurrent projects.
Ensure database integrity, security, and availability in compliance with industry regulations.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Minimum of 6 years of experience in large enterprise environments.
Extensive hands-on proficiency in:

Oracle Database Administration
Oracle RAC
Oracle Data Guard
Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
RMAN (Backup & Recovery)
Database patching & upgrades
Performance tuning & optimization
Database migration projects

Robust experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS.
Proficient in SQL and/or PL/SQL.
Solid Unix/Linux administration skills.
Experience in Agile delivery frameworks.
Demonstrated ability in automation tools such as:

Ansible
Git
Bash and/or Python scripting

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with Jenkins and Groovy.
Experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
Exposure to diverse database technologies.
Experience in the banking or financial services sector.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent) – mandatory.
