AECOM is currently looking for a Senior Transit Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Salt Lake City, Denver, or Phoenix.
Position Overview:
- The Senior Transit Engineer will play a crucial role within our US West Region Transit/Rail Engineering Group.
- This position offers the chance to engage in a variety of stimulating transit initiatives, with a specific emphasis on supporting our regional Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) design team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a team leader and/or deputy project manager on various planning studies, preliminary design studies, and final design projects for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
- Coordinate and collaborate effectively with team members while contributing to business development efforts.
- Complete specific and moderate portions of broader assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Prepare engineering calculations, develop drawings, and create visual aids for BRT infrastructure.
- Review and prepare multimodal street designs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
- Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates for projects.
- Utilize expertise to ensure the completion of discipline components for PS&E packages.
- Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
- Prepare technical specifications.
- Contribute to engineering budget and schedule development.
- Mentor and provide leadership to entry-level engineers.
- Work independently and in collaboration with team members to fulfill design elements for engineering projects.
