WHAT YOU’LL DO:Design high-performance, high-speed geartrain systems with an emphasis on high-speed rotordynamic effects, lubrication, and highly integrated interfaces. Conduct gear design calculations in accordance with AGMA/ISO standards, assessing load capacity, contact stress, and bending fatigue. Perform dynamic analysis of rotating systems, including vibration, critical speed, and noise, vibration, harshness using tools such as KissSoft, Simcenter, SMT MASTA, and Ansys. Design and analyze custom hardware for shafts, bearings, housings, and lubrication systems.

Role Overview: Senior Transmission Design Engineer

The Senior Transmission Design Engineer will play a central role in designing and validating high-speed power transmission systems for turboelectric adaptive jet engines. This position requires a strong grasp of complex system dynamics and a willingness to take full ownership of transmission design from concept through rigorous testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, analyze, and build high-speed power transmission systems for electric propulsion applications
  • Lead validation efforts, including thorough ground testing of transmission hardware
  • Collaborate closely with propulsion, aircraft, and testing teams to deliver optimized solutions for flight vehicles
