Candidate ProfileBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in thermal, structural, or dynamics simulation. Expertise in FEA/CFD software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL) and MBD tools (e.g., MSC Adams). Deep understanding of heat transfer, materials science, and mechanics. Proven experience with test correlation and validation techniques. Ability to establish comprehensive boundary conditions and load scenarios. Proficient scripting skills (Python/MATLAB) for automation and analysis. Excellent technical communication skills, both written and verbal. Adaptability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment. Hands-on mentality with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

As a Simulation Engineer at 1X Technologies, you will play a critical role in leading thermal and multi-body structural analyses of advanced robotic systems, directly influencing design and production decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate thermal models for actuators, electronics, and enclosures.

  • Conduct multi-body dynamics simulations to evaluate robotic motion and load cases.

  • Create structural FEA models to analyze stress, fatigue, and stiffness.

  • Align simulations with experimental data to enhance model accuracy.

  • Establish best practices for simulations, including templates and documentation.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and hardware teams to convert requirements into robust models.

  • Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) and sensitivity analyses to inform design choices.

  • Support design reviews by providing detailed technical reports and visualizations.

  • Automate simulation processes with scripting where applicable.

  • Contribute to system-level trade studies and architectural decisions.
