Valid CSCS card is mandatory. Current driving license. SMSTS certification. First Aid at Work certification is highly desirable. Fire Marshall certification is a plus. Training as a Temporary Works Supervisor. Scaffold inspection certification (layer or CISRS). Asbestos awareness certification.

About the job

  • Oversee all daily operational activities on-site, ensuring effective management of operatives and subcontractors while strictly following company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the highest standards of Health and Safety throughout all site activities, organizing resources to maximize efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive inductions for all employees and subcontractors, followed by regular toolbox talks.
  • Ensure adherence to the United Way of working, integrating contract delivery processes into daily operations.
  • Manage project-related administration and filing in line with the United Way IMS and Project Filing Guide.
  • Identify and implement client-critical success factors, proactively addressing any issues that arise.
  • Monitor quality and program standards to prevent defects, conducting regular reviews to track progress against the program and tackling any shortcomings promptly.
  • Review and coordinate contract drawings and specifications for all work sections.
  • Maintain accurate records of requests for information, verbal instructions, delays, and disruptions, collaborating with the commercial team to protect the company's interests.
  • Identify and requisition necessary site equipment, plants, and materials to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Line Manager regarding site progress and any potential impacts on the contract program, providing weekly updates on all activities.
  • Develop short-term work plans for all trades to ensure alignment with main program dates.
  • Chair or attend weekly subcontractor progress and planning meetings, documenting minutes effectively.
  • Keep detailed daily records of site activities to maintain operational transparency and accountability.
  • Supervise the execution of work safety plans, method statements, risk assessments, and other procedural documentation, ensuring compliance and reporting on their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external departments to ensure smooth site operations, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Ensure all operatives and subcontractors wear appropriate PPE at all times during site activities.
  • Verify that all operatives and subcontractors are adequately trained to handle relevant plant and equipment.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of contract terms and conditions and associated obligations.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to stay informed about the financial status of the contract and agree on the scope of work for each subcontractor.
