Position Summary & Objective
Join our dynamic team as a Field Service Technician based in the Lansing, MI or Elizabethtown, KY area. In this role, you will travel to various customer facilities to oversee, manage, and execute hands-on tasks related to the disassembly, repair, and assembly of mechanical and forging presses.
Essential Functions
- Promote a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to PPE requirements at all times.
- Supervise and guide both customer and Enprotech personnel in maintenance and repair operations of presses.
- Serve as the primary liaison at customer sites for daily operations and strategic planning.
- Assemble, repair, and rebuild manufacturing equipment from component parts in line with standard operating procedures and customer specifications.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to accurately assemble equipment.
- Disassemble and reassemble metal forming presses, which entails rigging, fitting, scraping, grinding, and adjustments.
- Install lubrication blocks, lines, and plumbing systems (including pneumatics and hydraulics).
- Troubleshoot hydraulic lubrication systems to identify necessary repairs for restoring functionality.
- Align machines and equipment utilizing hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
- Utilize basic hand tools, including ratchets, impacts, torque multipliers, hydraulic torque wrenches, magnetic drills, and hydraulic jacks.
- Ensure that all parts are prepared, deburred, and free from defects prior to assembly.
- Conduct quality checks to verify that products meet established quality standards using various inspection tools and devices.
- Operate small lathes and mills for polishing parts and creating keys.
- Handle cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment as required.
