As a Software Engineer at Grab, you will be integral to the company’s core operations, laying the groundwork for all subsequent developments.
Role Overview
In this internship, you will spearhead the design, development, and upkeep of our essential backend systems, fostering technological innovation and establishing benchmarks for engineering excellence. You will report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager, gaining valuable insights and experience.
This position is available for on-site work at our Petaling Jaya office.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications utilizing backend programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, following the best coding practices and standards.
- Create and implement RESTful APIs to enable smooth communication across various system components and services.
- Work collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to comprehend project requirements, propose solutions, and produce high-quality code.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while engaging in code reviews to learn from peers and provide constructive feedback.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and test software applications to identify and resolve performance and reliability issues.
- Assist in researching and assessing new technologies, tools, and frameworks that could improve our development processes and product offerings.
- Engage in team meetings, stand-ups, and knowledge-sharing sessions to remain updated on project progress and industry best practices.
