Job Description
We are in search of a dedicated and talented Software Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. In this role, you will:
- Empower internal business units with shared engineering services and tools, creating processes that drive their success.
- Forge strong relationships with various stakeholders across the company to understand their needs and lead projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate closely with internal customer-facing teams, enhancing their operations and simplifying their daily tasks. Work with product engineering to extract data that informs strategic business decisions.
Deliverables for this role may include:
- Developing new developer tools to enhance engineering productivity.
- Refining existing tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Utilizing production data to identify potential issues.
- Creating tooling for development and staging environments.
As a fully remote and early-stage company, we seek a self-motivated individual ready to drive product advancement. You should be adept at thinking on your feet, collaborating with highly technical teams, and comfortable with asynchronous work.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to design, build, test, and document essential software components.
- Take ownership of the running services that constitute Tailscale’s products by ensuring observability, participating in incident responses, and handling escalated customer support issues.
- Analyze and enhance the efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources.
