Qualifications
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement diverse, physically realistic environments for NEO in simulation. Bridge the gap between simulated policies and their real-world applications on robots. Expand the production of simulation data for research purposes. Collaborate with AI and teleoperation teams to create new training and evaluation tasks, ensuring optimal performance. Work closely with the hardware team to prototype new robot hardware and test it in a virtual simulation environment. Qualifications4+ years of programming experience in Python, C++, or similar languages. Proficient in building environments and benchmarks using robotics simulators such as MuJoCo, PyBullet, or Isaac Sim. Experience in enhancing the performance of physics simulators or OpenGL rendering pipelines. Familiarity with testing practices to ensure the accuracy of simulation stacks for robot learning. Strong work ethic and the courage to tackle complex technical challenges. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science or a related field. Knowledge of extrinsic and intrinsic calibration algorithms relevant to robotics.

As a Software Engineer specializing in simulation, you will be instrumental in creating and enhancing simulation environments and real-time infrastructures that significantly boost robot learning. Your contributions will empower our AI team to rapidly iterate on research by minimizing reliance on physical robot evaluations. You'll be tasked with constructing highly realistic simulation environments, scaling simulation data, and facilitating the connection between simulated and real-world robot behaviors. Furthermore, you'll prototype cutting-edge hardware in simulation and assist with training and evaluation tasks across different teams.
