What You’ll Do
As a Special Education Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing lesson plans that align with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

  • Providing targeted instruction and support to students receiving special education services.

  • Adjusting curriculum and instructional strategies to cater to individual learning needs.

  • Utilizing data to track student progress and modify supports as necessary.

  • Collaborating with general education teachers to create inclusive learning experiences.

  • Establishing a positive and structured classroom environment where students feel respected, supported, and motivated.

  • Assisting students in developing effective study habits, self-advocacy skills, and social competencies.

  • Maintaining regular communication with families regarding student progress and IEP objectives.

  • Participating in ARD meetings, professional development, coaching sessions, and school events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required).

  • Special Education certification.

  • Experience working with diverse learners is preferred.
