Role overview
The Staff AI Engineer will shape the technical direction for voice-based generative AI in healthcare. This position involves designing intelligent systems that enable clinically safe healthcare agents, blending expertise in large language models, real-time voice interaction, and user-centered product development.
This is a hands-on role with significant impact. The Staff AI Engineer will oversee one or more core AI domains, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent orchestration, evaluation, or real-time voice. Collaboration with AI researchers, product managers, and clinical experts is central, as is mentoring engineers across the organization.
Contributions in this role will influence how patients and providers interact with generative AI at scale. Hippocratic AI seeks experienced technical leaders who want to apply AI to real-world healthcare challenges and set high standards for technical excellence.
Location requirement
This position is based in Palo Alto and requires in-person attendance at the office five days a week unless otherwise specified.
