This position is based in our Las Vegas office, requiring in-office presence each week.
Role Overview:
As a pivotal technical leader, you will drive the launch of our commercial Autonomous Vehicle (AV) ride service in Las Vegas. We are searching for a Staff Software Engineer with a robust product-oriented perspective to connect our Operations partners with our global Engineering team. You will spearhead the development of essential operational tools, such as fleet management and orchestration systems, while defining the technology roadmap to align with real-world demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on Development & Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of high-impact operational tools, developing both frontend and backend services utilized by the Operations team for fleet monitoring and management. You will ensure a balance between long-term scalability and immediate operational needs.
- Serve as the primary engineering representative at the Las Vegas AV operation center, providing real-time technical support and troubleshooting to guarantee daily operational success.
- Engage in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, mentor junior engineers, and establish workflows that facilitate seamless collaboration between our Las Vegas and Singapore teams.
Product Engineering & Stakeholder Alignment:
- Bridge between Operations and Technology: Collaborate closely with Operations, Product, and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) to translate complex real-world fleet challenges into actionable technical requirements for our global engineering teams.
- Define the Tooling Roadmap: Advocate for the vision of our fleet management and orchestration systems, identifying key issues to solve for enhanced fleet efficiency and reduced manual effort.
- Feedback Loop Architect: Create processes and features that convert qualitative operational feedback into quantitative data, aiding the global team in prioritizing platform enhancements.
