Proficient in teamwork and collaboration. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey insights and recommendations confidently. Familiarity with the grocery or FMCG sector is an advantage.

This role demands an in-depth comprehension of market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive analysis to efficiently curate product assortments, optimize pricing, and orchestrate promotional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement detailed category strategies that resonate with overarching business goals and financial objectives.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of category performance metrics, pinpointing trends, opportunities, and enhancement areas.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and procurement, to refine product assortments and ensure impactful merchandising.
  • Negotiate advantageous terms with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and product availability.
  • Stay abreast of market dynamics and competitor movements to adjust category strategies proactively.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to craft promotional campaigns that foster consumer engagement and drive category expansion.
  • Oversee inventory management to guarantee product availability while minimizing surplus stock.
  • Regularly evaluate category performance and refine strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members in category management best practices.
