The Calgary West Central Primary Care Network (CWC PCN) is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality. Collaborating with hundreds of family practitioners, we strive to strengthen the patient-doctor relationship while offering comprehensive programs and services at no cost to both doctors and patients.

As our Strategic Communications Advisor, your role will involve crafting and implementing tailored communications strategies to support various initiatives within CWC PCN. You will be instrumental in producing clear, engaging communications that resonate with our stakeholders, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives. Working collaboratively with fellow communications team members and key stakeholders, you will oversee the execution of projects that exemplify our commitment to effective communication.

This position is primarily remote, with occasional in-person obligations at our main office located at 5966 Centre St. S. E., Calgary. Candidates must reside in Calgary or nearby regions such as Cochrane, Airdrie, or Chestermere.

This role is a temporary maternity leave contract, anticipated to last from June 1st, 2026 to July 10th, 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications Planning

  • Provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders, addressing communication challenges with actionable insights.
  • Draft detailed strategic communication plans with defined, measurable goals.
  • Ensure audience-appropriate communications through persona development, key message testing, and metric analysis.
  • Collaborate to create and maintain an annual editorial calendar for scheduling communication initiatives.
  • Conduct research into the communications landscape, including partnerships and relevant organizations in the healthcare sector.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on creative projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Deliver ongoing reports and feedback to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Analyze Google Analytics reports to identify focus areas for communication strategies.
  • Assist in crisis communication efforts as necessary.

Content Development, Writing, and Editing

  • Lead the monthly public-facing newsletter development.
  • Maintain a consistent writing style and tone that aligns with the CWC PCN brand.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism in all written communications.
