At Descript, finance is not merely a back-office function; it serves as a crucial strategic partner in guiding our growth trajectory. We are seeking a dedicated professional who can transform insights into actionable strategies to help the company make informed decisions, allocate capital efficiently, and optimize our go-to-market engine. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you will function as a senior individual contributor with substantial ownership over your work.
Your responsibilities will span the entire growth funnel, from lead generation to conversion, retention, and Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). You will take charge of the go-to-market (GTM) and growth models, collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Growth, and Data teams. As a strategic partner, you will advise GTM leadership on goal-setting, performance tracking, and identifying new growth avenues across self-serve, product-led, and sales-led initiatives.
The ideal candidate will approach GTM finance with a blend of analytical rigor and strategic foresight. You should relish the opportunity to build models and metrics while also crafting a compelling narrative around growth. Proficiency in SQL is essential, as is the ability to work with complex and imperfect data, translating these into clear, impactful recommendations that influence Descript's growth strategy.
