Your ResponsibilitiesManage Descript’s top-of-funnel and growth models, including signups, paid conversion, ARR, and retention metrics. Oversee sales-driven revenue forecasting, encompassing pipeline modeling, win rates, sales capacity, and quota-driven ARR. Develop and sustain GTM financial models, inclusive of ARR builds, channel performance, cohort analysis, and scenario modeling. Collaborate closely with the data team to define key metrics, enhance the data framework, and facilitate reliable self-service analytics for finance and GTM. Create and maintain dashboards that track vital GTM metrics, such as signups by channel, conversion rates, new ARR, retention, and payback periods. Identify and assess growth opportunities across self-serve, product-led, and sales-assisted channels, quantifying their potential impact. Establish GTM goal-setting frameworks and monitor performance against established targets. Evaluate marketing and growth efficiency, focusing on ROI, Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), payback periods, and funnel conversion rates. Support pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies with thorough financial analysis. Communicate insights and recommendations to leadership in a clear, actionable manner, including the preparation of executive and board materials as necessary.

We are seeking a dedicated professional who can transform insights into actionable strategies to help the company make informed decisions, allocate capital efficiently, and optimize our go-to-market engine. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you will function as a senior individual contributor with substantial ownership over your work.

Your responsibilities will span the entire growth funnel, from lead generation to conversion, retention, and Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). You will take charge of the go-to-market (GTM) and growth models, collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, Growth, and Data teams. As a strategic partner, you will advise GTM leadership on goal-setting, performance tracking, and identifying new growth avenues across self-serve, product-led, and sales-led initiatives.

The ideal candidate will approach GTM finance with a blend of analytical rigor and strategic foresight. You should relish the opportunity to build models and metrics while also crafting a compelling narrative around growth. Proficiency in SQL is essential, as is the ability to work with complex and imperfect data, translating these into clear, impactful recommendations that influence Descript's growth strategy.
