Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or a related field; an advanced postgraduate degree and membership in a recognized institution is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience in designing, supervising, and administrating large-scale structural projects in the Middle East/UAE consulting industry. Hands-on site experience in basic design requirements, estimation, installation, and all site activities related to structural works for large-scale building projects. Thorough familiarity with structural engineering methodologies, including relevant equipment, materials, tools, and manpower allocations associated with structural works. Proficient in interpreting and executing structural-related drawings. Knowledge of relevant authorities' requirements is essential.

As a Structural Engineer at AECOM, you will play a vital role in overseeing all structural works related to our projects. You will ensure that tasks are executed with professionalism and efficiency to facilitate ongoing project progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a wide range of complex technical and administrative activities, demonstrating your extensive experience in Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC), and Quality Assurance (QA) inspection specific to structural works.
  • Review applicable codes, standards, and project contract documents while monitoring construction activities for compliance.
  • Clarify contract documents for contractors when necessary.
  • Maintain and prepare various records, including progress reports, material accounting records, change orders, and as-built drawings.
  • Assist the Project Engineer/Site Engineer as needed.
  • Supervise and coordinate the inspection team effectively.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with inspectors and the Project Engineer to ensure project alignment.
  • Ensure responses are thorough and compliant with contract documents, collaborating with the Project Engineer to resolve any issues.
  • Audit inspections to ensure conformity with contract documents and contractor-submitted plans.
  • Assist the Senior Discipline Engineer in identifying and addressing technical issues to maintain project schedules.
  • Highlight any violations of construction and engineering standards on-site through Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Participate in progress review and coordination meetings to assist the Project Lead/Senior Engineer in addressing discrepancies in project drawings.
  • Support snagging and project handover processes to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Liaise with the Design Engineer regarding any necessary modifications.
  • Provide daily site reports and communicate site issues to the Project Lead.
  • Contribute to the preparation of various reports as directed by the project lead.
