At Altom Transport, we are a leading carrier of petrochemicals and hazardous materials, dedicated to safety, innovation, and exceptional operational standards. We are in search of a Software Development Intern to contribute to our operations, billing, and app development projects. This internship presents an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates eager to acquire hands-on experience in software development within the transportation and logistics sector.
This position is based out of our Hammond terminal.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the development and optimization of internal applications to enhance business operations.
- Collaborate with billing and operations teams to create tools that improve efficiency.
- Enhance mobile and web applications utilized by customers and staff.
- Partner with the IT team to troubleshoot, test, and implement new software solutions.
- Engage in API integrations, database management, and system automation tasks.
- Attend meetings with stakeholders to gain insights into business needs.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or other programming languages.
- Understanding of database management (SQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills and a genuine passion for technology.
