Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsValid medical license issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California. ANDCurrent Board Certification in the relevant medical specialty for the assigned facility or division. ANDA minimum of three (3) years of post-residency experience as a practicing physician in the relevant specialty area. Note: One year of full-time employment equates to 2,000 hours (based on a 40-hour work week).*Applicants with a valid medical license from another U. S. state may apply, but must obtain a California medical license before starting work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the operational efficiency of a clinic, health center, program, or patient care facility, supervising physician specialists and healthcare professionals.
  • Plans and implements staff development and training initiatives, facilitating regular staff meetings and conferences.
  • Engages with agency leaders and representatives, collaborating with other organizations to assess community needs and devise specialized service plans.
  • Delivers medical treatment to the designated patient population, especially managing complex cases while evaluating the performance of facility operations.
  • Responsible for budget development and management for the clinic or program.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Division-Specific Responsibilities

  • Population Health Division
    • Directs citywide public health initiatives, overseeing various specialized branches and sections.
    • Fosters leadership development within the division to strengthen workforce diversity and achieve public health objectives.
    • Establishes partnerships to ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
    • Acts as a representative of the Population Health Division to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Collaborates with PHD leadership to manage budgets effectively.
  • Primary Care
    • Supervises operations across multiple community-based clinics.
