About the job
Are you a synthetic chemistry expert ready to influence the future of artificial intelligence? As large-scale language models transition from simple chatbots to groundbreaking tools for scientific exploration, your expertise in synthetic chemistry is crucial. High-quality training data is essential for shaping AI that can democratize top-tier education, align with cutting-edge research, and enhance laboratory efficiency for scientists worldwide. This is where you come in, we need your specialized knowledge to contribute to the next generation of AI.
We are seeking synthetic chemistry specialists who are passionate about organic synthesis, reaction mechanism design, stereochemistry, retrosynthetic analysis, organometallic chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, catalysis, and structure–activity relationships. Your role will involve engaging with advanced language models on complex topics such as multi-step synthesis planning, protecting group strategies, asymmetric catalysis, reagent selection, total synthesis of natural products, reaction optimization, and functional group transformations, documenting failures to strengthen model reasoning.
On a typical day, you will engage with the model on synthetic pathways and theoretical chemistry questions, ensuring factual accuracy and logical consistency, capturing reproducible error traces, and proposing enhancements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
A PhD in chemistry or a closely related physical or life-science discipline is preferred; a history of peer-reviewed publications, hands-on laboratory synthesis experience, or involvement in applied chemical development projects will indicate a strong fit. Clear, metacognitive communication, demonstrating your thought process, is vital.
Are you ready to transform your synthetic chemistry expertise into the foundation for tomorrow’s AI? Apply now to start teaching the model that will educate the world.
We offer a pay range of $8 to $65 per hour, with the final rate determined based on your experience, expertise, and geographic location. As a contractor, you will need to provide a secure computer and high-speed internet; note that company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and paid time off are not included.
