Unlike typical SaaS tools, LexStaffing uses a Role-as-a-Service (RaaS) approach. Ava is fully integrated as a staff member, trained and improved by the LexStaffing team. The platform’s success is measured by tangible results: time saved, calls answered, and appointments booked. Lawyers benefit from a solution that requires no technical setup or ongoing management on their end.
With product validation complete, LexStaffing is now focused on demonstrating technical reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability in real-world production settings.
Role overview
This remote Technical Co-founder (CTO) position is based in Los Angeles, California. The role centers on building long-term value and sustainable equity growth as part of LexStaffing’s founding team.
What you will do
- Strategic commitment: Prioritize equity and long-term value creation over immediate compensation in the co-founder role.
- Reliability leadership: Architect and maintain Ava’s voice and workflow systems, ensuring dependable uptime and low latency.
- RaaS infrastructure: Design the systems that allow LexStaffing’s team to configure, monitor, and improve AI performance efficiently, supporting growth without increasing engineering headcount.
- Unit economics oversight: Manage the balance between AI quality and cost-per-call, maintaining profitability under a $499/month pricing structure.
- High-stakes technical decisions: Make informed choices about scalability and readiness, always protecting product integrity and user trust.
- End-to-end ownership: Oversee the entire technical lifecycle, from initial code to live pilot launches, with the goal of delivering a tool that meets real needs for lawyers.
- Scope and feasibility: Collaborate with the Founder to shape the product roadmap, trimming features that threaten delivery or economics, and focusing on solutions that reduce operational burdens for legal professionals.
- Engineering team building: Recruit and lead a focused technical team, setting high standards for code quality, logging, and audit trails to ensure transparency and accountability in every AI output.
- Technical storytelling: Clearly communicate LexStaffing’s technology vision and capabilities to stakeholders.
