Key Responsibilities:Lead the execution of the vehicle program throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) development, launch, and sustaining phases, ensuring seamless integration of major subsystems (e.g., powertrain, connectivity, chassis) across all product development stages. Develop and manage program schedules, technical challenges, design release management, and resource allocation in collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams. This includes overseeing the First Article Test Process (FATP) with contract manufacturers and establishing clear objectives for upstream subsystem builds. Engage with stakeholders to identify program blockers, technical issues, and complex design trade-offs. Facilitate decision-making discussions to align with overall business goals and drive resolutions. Communicate progress and status updates to stakeholders and leadership across various locations and time zones. Proactively resolve issues and manage critical paths as priorities evolve. Understand system-level interactions and develop plans for vehicle Development Verification Protocol (DVP) testing, pilot programs, and field trials. Adapt lean methodologies to suit the program and the needs of the ALSO organization.

Our goal is simple yet ambitious: to inspire individuals to embrace the ride with ALSO, transforming local transportation by replacing traditional vehicles with our more affordable, enjoyable, and significantly more efficient alternatives.We are currently seeking a Staff Power Electronics Engineer who will take charge of developing cutting-edge electronic systems for our diverse micromobility platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesLead power conversion PCBA development, ensuring successful design, development, validation, and production ramp-up.Specialize in the design of highly integrated and cost-effective systems operating within the 48–100 V and 1–10 kW peak power range.Utilize a strong understanding of common sensors in actuation systems, including encoders, resolvers, Hall-effect sensors, and inductive sensors.Develop schedules, manage development phases, allocate test resources, and oversee contract manufacturer end-of-line activities.Collaborate with systems engineering to define and validate product requirements, including cost, performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.Conduct simulations, analyses, and validations of critical circuits, including worst-case circuit analysis.Specify and select essential components, and engage in the characterization, schematic capture, and layout of power electronics, controls, and auxiliary circuits.Work alongside the mechanical engineering team to select, design, and validate sensors.Partner with firmware and controls teams to ensure seamless hardware integration and effective control strategies.Collaborate with functional safety experts to identify critical diagnostics and protection circuits, delivering robust design implementations.Compile DFMEA, PFMEA, and validation plans to ensure product reliability.Engage in hands-on integration and testing activities, collaborating with test peers and external resources such as certification labs and contract manufacturers.Assist with thermal, EMC, reliability, and NVH testing processes.
