In this position, you will develop a profound technical knowledge of Unity’s products by collaborating closely with engineering teams and engaging directly with our technologies. Your expertise and writing abilities will be channeled into crafting content that not only informs but also inspires our users. Additionally, you will work alongside fellow writers to ensure a cohesive and high-quality content experience across our product range, establishing standards for style and coverage while learning from one another to enhance the writing quality across Unity.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation (user and developer guides, API references, SDKs, and code samples) for various products and features.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to grasp each feature's underlying technology, target audience, and documentation requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, accurate, and user-friendly through collaborative efforts.
- Advocate for user needs during feature development to improve workflows and usability.
Qualifications We Seek
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience with software development processes and concepts.
- Ability to simplify complex technical information into clear, user-centric documentation.
- Proven history of producing high-quality documentation in a dynamic software development setting.
- Strong time management skills and experience working effectively in a globally distributed team across various time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages, game development, digital artistry, or real-time 3D development.
- Experience using version control systems such as Git or Subversion for managing file changes.
