Language Empire is actively seeking freelance Malayalam interpreters within Swindon to provide services in various settings including the NHS, local authorities, police, probation services, and other public and private organizations.

We are hiring for the following interpreter roles:
- Face-to-Face Interpreters
- Telephone Interpreters
- Video Interpreters
- Translators
Important: This is a self-employed position.
The Role:
As an interpreter, your responsibilities will include accurately converting spoken content from the source language (Malayalam) to the target language (English), ensuring clarity and comprehension throughout.
Your key duties will include:
- Providing interpretation services for individuals accessing legal, health, and local government services.
- Verifying understanding with non-English speakers after each sentence.
- Engaging in conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
- Handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Acting as a liaison between service users and providers.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English and Malayalam.
- Right to work in the UK is mandatory for all applicants.
- Aged 21 or over.
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
- Community Interpreting certification
- Registration with NRPSI, CIOL, ITI is advantageous
- Degree in Translation, Interpreting, or Languages
- Any other relevant interpreting qualifications.
