Face-to-Face Interpreters

Note: This is a self-employed position.

Job Responsibilities:

As an interpreter, you will be tasked with listening to and accurately reproducing spoken content from the source language to the target language. Your role will involve:

Interpreting for clients accessing legal, health, and local government services
Ensuring comprehension among non-English speakers after each sentence
Conducting conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
Handling highly confidential information
Facilitating communication between service users and providers

Qualifications:

Fluency in English and at least one other language
Right to work in the UK is essential for all candidates
Applicants must be 21 years or older
Preferred formal qualifications include:

Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
Community Interpreting
NRPSI, CIOL, or ITI registration is advantageous
Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
Any other relevant interpreting qualification
