Join us in establishing premier accounting departments for expanding US firms. As a Controller, you will manage accounting functions, lead a dynamic team, enhance GAAP compliance, and ensure that executives receive reliable, timely financial data.
You will be responsible for supervising accounting personnel, fine-tuning processes, resolving intricate accounting challenges, and acting as a strategic finance partner , providing clarity, structure, discipline, and insight to executive teams.
This position combines advanced accounting knowledge, people management, process optimization, and client advisory. Note: This is a full-time independent contractor role requiring an exclusive commitment.
About the Role
You will take charge of financial oversight, quality control, and review for various client projects while mentoring accounting teams and streamlining reporting processes.
Expect to lead and enhance accounting delivery , going beyond mere bookkeeping.
What You’ll Do
Financial Reporting & GAAP Compliance
Oversee and evaluate month-end closure, reconciliations, and financial statements
Guarantee accuracy, quality documentation, and audit-ready workpapers
Implement GAAP across increasingly complex accounting domains
Investigate and resolve technical accounting issues; document findings
Sustain internal controls, workflows, and checklists
Team Leadership & Coaching
Educate, mentor, and manage accounting personnel
Distribute tasks and oversee timelines, quality, and resource utilization
Offer structured performance feedback and development plans
Assist with onboarding and serve as a technical resource for the team
Client Management & Communication
Engage in client meetings; present financial results and insights
Set expectations and communicate proactively regarding deadlines and issues
