About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Utilities Bureau Analyst, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Energy and Water Procurement to execute Workman’s strategic objectives for our clients. Your expertise in the energy sector will be invaluable as you address utility inquiries, validate bills, manage disconnection processes, and reconcile accounts with energy suppliers on behalf of Workman and its key clientele.
Additionally, you will assist in various projects aimed at optimizing invoicing procedures and collaborate with the Property Accounts teams to mitigate the risk of excessive debt.
We are seeking a candidate with a solid understanding of the energy and utility sectors, preferably with experience in a utility supplier, brokerage, or consultancy environment.
Your Daily Responsibilities
- Oversee Client Portfolios within the bill validation system.
- Effectively manage the collection of supplier invoices.
- Address and resolve supplier objections and billing discrepancies.
- Process Change of Tenancy (COT) requests efficiently.
- Keep Letters of Authority (LOAs) up to date.
- Set up new clients on the internal platform.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to fill data gaps.
- Produce weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports.
- Raise and resolve invoice-related queries with suppliers.
- Support internal Accounts Payable teams in managing disconnection notices with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Success Factors
Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with internal teams, including Property Managers, Property Management Accountants, and Senior Stakeholders, is critical to your success in this role. You will need exceptional attention to detail and an analytical mindset, especially when handling disconnection processes and resolving account issues.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in the energy market.
- Knowledge of SystemsLink Software is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong grasp of fixed and flexible procurement and bill validation processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of utility account management practices, including contract terms, invoicing, COT procedures, MOPs, and DADC.
- Ability to take ownership of your work and projects, employing critical thinking to solve problems effectively.
- Strong self-discipline and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment with effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Enjoy working collaboratively and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling analytical data.
