Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsStrong command of engineering fundamentals. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in rocket test operations, including on-console engineering support.2+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role. Proficiency in designing fluid systems including P&ID creation, line sizing, component specification, and hazard analysis. Hands-on experience in building and integrating mechanical and electronic systems. Expertise in writing and executing test procedures. Experience in developing and implementing automation for ground and vehicle systems. Familiarity with high-pressure and hazardous environments. Experience in real-time and post-test data analysis. Thorough knowledge and troubleshooting skills for mechanical fluid components such as cryogenic and high-pressure valves, pressure regulators, pumps, and relief valves. Extensive knowledge and troubleshooting experience with instrumentation including pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, and silicon diodes.

Role Overview

The Vehicle Test Operations Manager will lead the team at the Moses Lake Test Site responsible for building and operating vehicle test facilities. This includes both component-level and integrated vehicle testing. The manager will play a central role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable test operations, with a focus on streamlining procedures and accelerating test schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction and management of vehicle test facilities
  • Direct both vehicle component and integrated vehicle testing activities
  • Ensure all test operations meet safety and reliability standards
  • Work to optimize processes and reduce testing timelines
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, and electrical teams
  • Provide feedback to refine vehicle designs for high-frequency operations
  • Adapt quickly to new challenges and shifting priorities
