Kobalt Music Group is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced executive to spearhead our Creative Synch team based in New York, serving clients across the U. S. East Coast. This pivotal role bridges creative vision with commercial execution, focusing on maximizing synch revenue while establishing Kobalt as a premier partner in the advertising industry.

Reporting directly to the SVP of Global Creative Synch, the Vice President will play a crucial role in the U. S. advertising landscape, managing key client relationships, negotiating deals, and collaborating with various teams to leverage opportunities within Kobalt’s extensive global publishing catalog.

This senior leadership position is ideal for a candidate with robust industry connections, keen commercial acumen, and a proven history of negotiating significant, market-impacting deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Pitching & Deal Execution: Lead high-level creative pitching initiatives for Kobalt's music publishing catalog within the advertising sector, ensuring our offerings are presented with clarity, cultural relevance, and commercial viability.
  • Rights Clearance & Negotiation: Oversee the management, negotiation, and closure of synchronization requests, ensuring all rights are cleared effectively while balancing both creative and commercial objectives. Negotiate intricate licensing agreements to maintain deal momentum.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with music supervisors, advertising agencies, production companies, directors, and other critical decision-makers in the advertising space. Act as a senior market-facing representative of Kobalt, fostering long-term partnerships with influential creatives and commercial leaders.
  • Proactive Business Development: Strategize on new business opportunities within advertising and branded content. Create tailored outreach initiatives that effectively convert relationship-building efforts into consistent deal flow and revenue growth.
  • Client & Writer Engagement: Sustain strong collaborative relationships with Kobalt clients, including songwriters, artists, and their representatives, ensuring their music is strategically positioned in the sync marketplace.
  • Team Leadership & Market Oversight: Lead the New York Creative Synch Team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and performance management. Set clear revenue targets and expectations for team members to align with departmental objectives.
