The Vice President of Education plays a critical role, working alongside the Chief Operating Officer to provide strategic leadership and oversight for our education division. This includes program planning, curriculum development, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and ensuring operational effectiveness across all programs. The Vice President ensures that our educational services adhere to best practices, achieve high-quality outcomes for students, and align with AHRC NYC’s mission and organizational priorities.
In this senior position, you will mentor and supervise direct reports, fostering their professional growth while reinforcing educational and clinical standards. You will cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration among educational teams. Additionally, you will contribute to agency-wide strategies and initiatives, shaping policy and long-term planning, while representing AHRC NYC in educational and policy forums to advocate for quality educational opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
AHRC NYC operates one of the largest nonprofit special education programs in New York State, including 4410 and 853 schools serving children from preschool to extended high school, with Regents Diploma pathways available for eligible students. The division encompasses five preschool programs, two K-6 programs, and one high school, serving over 800 students annually. In collaboration with students, families, educators, clinicians, and community stakeholders, the Vice President for Education will oversee these programs while advancing innovative strategies for inclusive, high-quality education for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
