About the Role

Tarsus Pharmaceuticals is on the lookout for a dynamic Vice President of Innovation. This role calls for an entrepreneurial leader who is driven by results, scientifically knowledgeable, and commercially adept. You will spearhead the next generation of innovations in eye care, guiding projects from initial concept to clinical implementation. As a vital thought partner to our accomplished Innovation Lab leadership, you will identify and nurture high-potential therapeutic opportunities, steering innovation programs to become clinic-ready each year, and fundamentally influencing Tarsus' future portfolio.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid scientific background, a proven history of prompt innovation, deep business acumen, and a fervor for cultivating new ventures that accelerate development from idea to clinical proof-of-concept. You will work closely with senior leaders within the Innovation Lab and across various functions to transform early concepts into clinically and commercially viable programs within our rapidly expanding organization, leveraging Tarsus’ extensive organizational expertise in commercial strategy, clinical development, research and development, business development, and intellectual property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and refine the strategic vision and expansion of the Innovation Lab to align with Tarsus’ long-term growth strategies through innovative category creation.
  • Lead the Innovation Lab team in managing a robust pipeline of current innovation candidates, identifying further prioritization and acceleration opportunities.
  • Evaluate bold, science-driven opportunities based on promising therapeutic targets, including potential analogues beyond eye care, aiming to redefine care standards in eye care and adjacent fields.
  • Review and provide strategic insights on actionable business plans for early-stage assets, ensuring alignment with market needs and scientific viability, facilitating programs to achieve clinic readiness.
  • Thoroughly assess unmet needs and innovation gaps through physician collaboration, patient insights, biological data, and commercial assessments.
