Become a vital member of our innovative and diverse Water Team as a Wastewater Modeller. You can choose to work from one of our UK or Ireland offices while enjoying the benefits of a flexible hybrid working model.
In this role, you will contribute significantly to impactful water initiatives both in the UK and globally. We facilitate the creation of major flood alleviation schemes, pollution mitigation efforts, and crucial infrastructure projects, all of which will be instrumental in your ongoing professional development. A distinctive feature of our methodology is that our modelling team is seamlessly integrated with our broader project teams, allowing for close collaboration with experts from various fields to devise holistic solutions.
As a pioneering force in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we partner with public and private sector clients including Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, the Environment Agency, LLFAs, and other infrastructure stakeholders. We provide Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Outline Business Cases, hydraulic models, and detailed designs. We set industry benchmarks through our guidance and advisory services that uphold best practices, ensuring AECOM remains at the forefront of the water industry. Your Responsibilities:
- Develop, calibrate, and validate wastewater network models utilizing industry-standard software (e.g., InfoWorks ICM).
- Execute technical and administrative tasks of varying complexity associated with hydrology and groundwater investigations informing wastewater modelling studies.
- Assist with assignments that may encompass broader hydrology and related technical fields, adhering to defined project scopes with regular professional oversight.
- Analyze modelling outputs and environmental data, generating technical reports and supporting documentation.
- Monitor and interpret data to evaluate the impacts of upstream activities on wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with relevant permits and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, planners, and environmental specialists to provide integrated solutions.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of modelling processes and technical standards.
