Step into our vibrant and multifaceted Water Team as a Wastewater Modeller. You have the flexibility to work from any of our UK or Ireland offices, benefiting from our adaptable hybrid working model.
In this role, you will play a vital role in executing meaningful water projects both within the UK and globally. We facilitate the creation of substantial flood alleviation initiatives, pollution mitigation strategies, and critical infrastructure projects, providing a diverse experience that will be essential for your ongoing professional development. An outstanding feature of our methodology is the full integration of our modelling team with broader project teams, enabling our modellers to collaborate closely with specialists from various disciplines to formulate holistic solutions.
As a recognized leader in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we partner with public and private sector clients including Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, the Environment Agency, LLFAs, and other infrastructure providers. Our services encompass Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Outline Business Cases, hydraulic models, and detailed designs. We set industry benchmarks by developing guidelines that establish best practices, ensuring AECOM remains at the cutting edge of the water sector. This position presents an exceptional opportunity to support a skilled, diverse team committed to innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, calibrating, and validating wastewater network models utilizing industry-standard software (e.g., InfoWorks ICM).
- Performing technical and administrative tasks of moderate complexity related to hydrology and groundwater studies that inform wastewater modelling endeavors.
- Assisting with assignments that may encompass the broader field of hydrology and related technical disciplines, adhering to defined project scopes with regular professional oversight.
- Analyzing modelling outputs and environmental data, preparing comprehensive technical reports and supporting documentation.
- Monitoring and interpreting data to evaluate the impacts of upstream activities on wastewater systems while ensuring compliance with applicable permits and regulatory standards.
- Collaborating with engineers, planners, and environmental specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
- Contributing to the continuous enhancement of modelling processes and technical standards.
