As a Work Control Project Specialist (Maximo) at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, you will play a pivotal role in supporting facility maintenance operations. This position involves managing work control processes, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, and overseeing the IBM Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). You will ensure the accurate creation, scheduling, tracking, and completion of work orders while fostering system implementation and continuous improvement of maintenance workflows.
This position demands a detail-oriented approach, working closely with maintenance crews, project managers, and leadership to guarantee efficient scheduling, accurate reporting, and proper documentation of maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the IBM Maximo CMMS to support all maintenance operations, including work order creation, tracking, scheduling, and completion.
- Assist with Maximo implementation activities such as system configuration, data migration, preventive maintenance setup, and user training.
- Receive, review, and process maintenance service requests, generating Maximo work orders for corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
- Schedule and dispatch technicians for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks utilizing Maximo scheduling tools.
- Maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules, ensuring work orders are generated and completed in accordance with established maintenance cycles.
- Monitor work order status in Maximo, coordinating with maintenance staff to ensure timely completion and accurate documentation.
- Record and update asset information, labor hours, materials, and maintenance history within Maximo.
- Classify service tickets in the system and assign them to the appropriate maintenance department or technician.
- Prepare and distribute work orders to service crews, coordinating service calls as necessary.
- Communicate messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments via email, telephone, or system notifications.
- Input technician time, completion notes, and maintenance documentation into the work management system.
- Close out work orders in Maximo with comprehensive completion notes and documentation for asset history and reporting purposes.
- Troubleshoot discrepancies within work orders, asset records, or maintenance documentation when necessary.
