lago-1 is building an AI-powered veterinary care ecosystem that supports over 20,000 clinics in more than 100 countries. The proprietary platform, Marcia, connects millions of users through six integrated portals and handles tens of millions of concurrent sessions. This remote Full-Stack Developer position is open to candidates in the Philippines and several other countries, with a Monday to Friday schedule aligned to 9 AM – 5 PM EST. Compensation ranges from $1,800 to $3,500 USD per month ($11 – $22 USD/hour).
This role centers on AI-assisted development in an environment that prioritizes automation, agentic workflows, and scalable engineering. The team encourages the use of advanced AI tools and workflows to accelerate and improve the quality of solutions delivered globally.
Role overview
The Full-Stack Developer will play a key role in building and scaling a high-performance, globally distributed platform. The position calls for deep experience in AI-assisted development, including the use of tools such as Claude Code and Cursor, and the orchestration of sub-agents throughout the software lifecycle. The work involves conceptualizing systems, optimizing performance, and designing infrastructure to handle significant load.
What you will do
- AI-Assisted Development: Use AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor) as primary development environments, design and implement agentic workflows and sub-agents, and apply AI to improve development, testing, and debugging.
- Full-Stack Development: Build and maintain scalable frontend and backend systems across multiple portals (Consumer, Clinic, Enterprise, Platform, Referral, Admin) while ensuring code remains clean, maintainable, and high quality.
- Performance & Scalability: Optimize database queries and system performance, design and manage caching layers and connection pools, and create systems that support millions of concurrent users.
- Code Quality & Security: Ensure all code passes automated review pipelines with multiple bots before human review, meet SonarCloud quality gates on first push, and follow strict security practices.
- System Design: Architect distributed systems for global scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and high availability, and collaborate on infrastructure and backend architecture decisions.
This is not a conventional engineering role. Success here means embracing AI-first development, working with agentic workflows, and helping to deliver scalable, secure solutions for a global user base.
