Join MLB Network as a Manager of Accounting, where you will lead and oversee the Accounting Department with a focus on fostering teamwork and driving excellence. As the Accounting Manager, you will play a vital role in developing and executing accounting policies and ensuring effective communication of these standards across MLB Network’s various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the company’s accounting initiatives, upholding the integrity of accounting procedures.
- Maintain accurate financial records within the company’s accounting system, including general ledger management and fixed asset oversight.
- Provide leadership and manage the daily operations of the accounting staff.
- Review journal entries in the general ledger system for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Assess and approve employee expense reports in alignment with company policy.
- Ensure accurate coding of invoices per the company’s chart of accounts.
- Verify the accuracy of affiliate revenue reports and advertising revenue for the monthly close.
- Collaborate with the audit team to facilitate the annual financial statement audit.
- Manage the monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
- Review quarterly financial reports, including cash flow and fixed asset roll-forwards.
- Oversee tax compliance and payments, maintaining active communication with tax advisors.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the organization, focusing on collaborative problem-solving.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, vendors, and stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Continuously enhance your knowledge in accounting and the broader business environment.
- Support special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
