Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver advanced nursing expertise for the development and implementation of medical and clinical activities aligned with each patient’s treatment plan. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical assessments, oversee medication management, and provide consultations within the APRN scope of practice. Evaluate and confirm the appropriateness of patient admissions and ongoing care. Offer after-hours on-call support for emergency psychiatric and medical situations. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance coordination of patient care. Provide training to staff as required. Engage in facility performance improvement and utilization review initiatives. Conduct peer reviews and assist in formulating and evaluating policies and procedures. Help build a network of community resources to ensure continuity of care post-discharge. Collaborate with clinical and executive leadership on patient care policies. Ensure prompt and accurate documentation of assessments, orders, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Consult with patients and their families as appropriate. Maintain an active collaborative agreement and prescriptive authority with the Medical Director. Provide on-site services in accordance with facility schedules and agreements. Support compliance with infection control standards and work alongside the Infection Control Nurse. Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations and Joint Commission standards. Uphold safety and risk management protocols.
