POSITION OVERVIEW: As an Assembly Technician, you will play a crucial role in assembling components that contribute to our state-of-the-art New Flyer Metro Transit buses. Your responsibilities will include working with electrical, mechanical, engine, and axle sub-assemblies.
COMPENSATION: The starting pay rate for this position is $20.99 per hour.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of assemblies relevant to your designated area.
- Interpret blueprints, process sheets, and written instructions effectively.
- Utilize both hand and air tools proficiently.
- Regularly lift and transport objects weighing up to 10 pounds, with the ability to frequently lift objects up to 25 pounds.
- Perform tasks that require bending, stooping, reaching, and prolonged standing at an ergonomic workstation.
- Work in areas with potential exposure to vibrations and moving mechanical components.
- Maintain an on-site presence to fulfill assigned duties and be available for overtime when necessary.
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision, achieving performance benchmarks and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Test and troubleshoot completed assemblies across various assembly areas.
