Join our dynamic team at Insomnia Cookies as an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM), a pivotal leadership role that prepares you for the next step in your career as a Bakery Operations Manager. As an ABOM, you will operate with the urgency, precision, and accountability expected at a BOM level, while honing your leadership skills to independently manage bakery operations.

This position combines hands-on operational excellence with team development, administrative oversight, and leadership. ABOMs serve as a vital extension of the Bakery Operations Manager (BOM) and must be prepared to assume full bakery ownership as needed. Our Georgetown store is conveniently located at 1201 Half St. SE Suit 130 Washington, DC 20003.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Execution
• Execute essential bakery operations including inventory management, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and administrative checklists.
• Uphold stringent standards for product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience.
• Assist with ordering, ensuring inventory accuracy, and controlling shrinkage.
• Aid in the creation of staff schedules and the execution of labor to achieve operational goals.

Talent & Team Development
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
• Provide ongoing coaching and timely performance feedback.
• Hold team members accountable to operational standards while fostering a culture of growth and development.
• Ensure training and onboarding programs are aligned with company standards.

Leadership & Ownership
• Independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM.
• Exemplify urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with the BOM and Area leadership to identify and address operational gaps.
• Ensure continuity of operations during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
• Perform additional duties as required.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
• Ability to execute all BOM-level administrative and operational functions independently.
• The bakery is fully staffed, trained, and operating to high standards.
• A robust culture of accountability and consistency prevails.
• Acts as a dependable operational leader in any coverage scenario.
• Demonstrates readiness and potential for promotion to a BOM role.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
• Strong operational discipline with meticulous attention to detail.
