The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) serves as a vital stepping stone in our leadership pipeline, aimed at cultivating the future leaders of our Bakery Operations. ABOMs are expected to function at a level comparable to that of Bakery Operations Managers (BOM), with a focus on executing bakery operations with urgency, precision, and accountability. Additionally, this role emphasizes the development of leadership skills essential for managing a bakery independently.
This position uniquely combines hands-on operational excellence with talent development, administrative responsibilities, and team leadership. ABOMs are intended to be a seamless extension of the BOM, fully prepared to assume complete ownership of bakery operations when necessary. Our Jacksonville, FL store is located at 4549 Southside Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Execution
• Oversee all core bakery operations, including inventory rotation, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and administrative compliance checklists.
• Uphold rigorous standards for product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience.
• Assist with ordering processes, inventory accuracy, and shrink prevention.
• Contribute to schedule creation and labor management to meet operational goals.

Talent & Team Development
• Facilitate the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Provide ongoing coaching and real-time performance feedback to staff.
• Hold team members accountable to high standards while fostering a culture of growth and development.
• Ensure onboarding and training programs are executed in line with company standards.

Leadership & Ownership
• Independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM.
• Exemplify urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with the BOM and Area leadership to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure continuity of operations during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

• Ability to independently execute all BOM-level administrative and operational responsibilities.
• Bakery operates with a fully staffed, trained team adhering to high-quality standards.
• Strong culture of accountability and consistency is established.
• Acts as a dependable operational leader in all coverage scenarios.
• Demonstrates readiness and potential for promotion to a BOM role.
